Football Manager 2013: 9 Improvements We Want to See

8. International Management

There needs to be something done to international management because quite frankly, it is boring! I am really not sure what they could do to it but surely something can be done. Nobody watches games to watch players because the stats and form tell you everything you need to know. I also find it incredibly annoying how you can't really train your international team to a tactic because of how little time you have with them. I know this is applicable in real life football but we could do with more complicated/intense training for when we are managing an international team. Maybe they need to make it harder by limiting form and statistics information to international managers unless they have set a scout or their assistant to watch certain games and players. They may even have to watch the games themselves to gain a proper understanding of how well each player is doing. It may make the game more time consuming but it makes you more involved as an international manager.

9. Persuading A High Profile Player To Join

How annoying is it when you thrash out negotiations with a club for a player you so desperately want and when it comes down to contract negotiations you get the message "this player is not interested in joining your club". When this happens, you should be able to have a conversation with the player and/or agent to discuss why you think they should join your club. They should not always be successful even if you say all the right things because then you could basically sign anyone. Certain players could also have their own preferences depending on which club is trying to sign them. There favourite club could be a lower league team so that team may have a better chance of signing them because of thiss fact. Players have favourite clubs on the current Football Manager but it does not really mean a lot. It does not seem to affect anything.
