Football Manager 2015: 10 Most Infuriating Things That Always Happen

3. Not Surviving A Board Takeover

You€™re five seasons into the game and you've taken Shrewsbury Town to the brink of Premier League glory. You€™re challenging for the title after successive promotions and some strong squad building. There are rumours of a rich oil baron who is interested in taking control of the club. Great! Surely, he will inject the money required to take you through the glass ceiling and finally give the fans the success they deserve. You start to excitedly draw up short-lists of world-class players who could inject the goals and flair you require to overhaul Manchester City at the top of the league. After weeks of negotiations, the takeover goes through and the oil baron takes control. This is your moment. You€™ll finally have the money to compete with the big boys, but, the oil baron has other ideas. He wants to appoint Alan Curbishley as he was a big fan of Charlton Athletic€™s steady time in the top division during his reign. Sure, that€™s fine. Forget the fact you've brought them from League Two to the top in just five short seasons. Forget the fact you€™re already a club icon because he fancies Curbishley as the man to take the club to the next level and who are you to argue?
