Any real Football Manager player knows the joy that comes with finding a talented youth player at the beginning of their career and turning them into a superstar. Previous iterations of the game meant that you'd have to sift through your youth teams to find the hidden gems inside of them, but that's no longer the case with the development centre.

All of your youth players can be found in one specific area, making it far easier to spot any burgeoning talent who're on the cusp of joining your first team. Unlike previous versions, where it was easy to lose a 16-year old dubbed "the next Neymar Jr." in the shuffle, these players are now picked out and presented to you clearly.

As mentioned earlier, your staff are far more engaging than ever before, so they'll give you updates on these players and advice on how to help them reach their full potential. If it means sending them out on loan so they can get first team experience or giving them some minutes in the first team, the staff in the development centre will suggest that.

It's quite clear that this year's edition really puts the focus on players who're in it for the long-term and the development centre rewards that.
