Football Manager 2021: 12 Essential Improvements It Needs
11. Better Social Media
At the moment, you get to learn the fan opinions. That's great, but they're usually split between praising your man of the match and decrying his abilities. It tells you virtually nothing. The social media page on FM20 is so basic it's going to order a Pumpkin Spice Latte as soon as Starbucks is open again.
Having it incorporate some of the real life drama from the previous page, you could easily have players taking to social media to complain about being subbed off, or they might like someone else's post saying how bad a manager you are.
Obviously that would be a huge task for one person to undertake. That shouldn't be the role of the manager. Instead, have a new employee 'Social Media Manager' who looks after that. They could have some staff to help them. They could even ensure you are updated with all the posts of your squad. At the same time, they could enhance your club and make the club seem more attractive to a player who is otherwise unsure about transferring.
If current social media is Pumpkin Spice Latte, then FM21 needs a hand-roasted single bean himalayan blend to make the page worth it.
