For Honor Review: 5 Ups & 5 Downs
1. Server Issues & Platform Bugs Can Ruin Everything

At time of writing, there's a good chance you've not even played For Honor. You might have bought it, installed and tried, but you haven't played it.
And why? Because the game 1. Isn't running on dedicated servers, which is mind-boggling, being combat is entirely based on reaction times and timing windows, ensuring disconnects are rampant and 2. Many copies of the PS4 version routinely crash, no matter what people do.
As each hour ticks by, more and more 'workarounds' provide a solution for some and continued lamentation for others, yet the fact remains: Whilst this is a far more polished release than Ubisoft have put out in quite some time, they've dropped the ball when it comes to online connectivity and platform specific polish.
Defenders of the game, by all means forgo this point when everything's buttery smooth, but for now - and especially when taken in the context of reviewing a product you can pay a substantial amount of money for - this is a cripplingly annoying negative.
