Friday The 13th Game Review: 4 Ups & 5 Downs

1. Playing As Jason

Whilst playing as the camp counsellors can be fun in its own right, playing as Jason is truly the best aspect of Friday the 13th.

Jason is incredibly fun as a character because of how powerful he feels, as Illfonic have absolutely nailed his hulking figure and use of brute force. He's also extremely powerful as it takes a hell of a lot of effort for the other team to win against Jason, making him feel like a true threat.

All of the best moments of playing Friday the 13th come from playing as Jason. Although being hunted by Jason has its merits, actually playing as the murderer is way more fun. Stalking your enemies, slowly planting traps and catching them as they try to escape are all some of the best moments that the game has to offer and they all come from being the bad guy.

Unfortunately for Friday the 13th, the bad definitely outweighs the good. Let's look at what went wrong.

Jumping through portals, swinging through cities, destroying beings made of darkness and occasionally shooting a gun or two. I also write about games.
