4. XCOM 2
https://youtu.be/un9YdJl5-uk?t=121 PLEASE FireAxis, let this come to consoles, what did we ever do to be denied a sequel to one of the greatest strategy games of all time? Anyway, XCOM 2 remains as (at time of writing) a PC-only exclusive, but being that's the developer's bread and butter, they're right at home improving every aspect of the base game itself. It's still a turn-based squad commander where you place your units around a map, trading off against an opposing alien force; but the twist this time round is in following on from the first game, the aliens won - thus you must get Earth back from their slimy claws. Crafting and customisation are both getting massive boosts, which is exactly what fans want. Now you can tailor specific weapons in multiple different ways, your troops all have character creators that are far more in-depth than the last game - and you'll have to choose exactly how and where to repel the alien invasion by establishing bases for the resistance in the right place at the right time. If you're drawing a blank on the franchise, check out XCOM: Enemy Within, it's the complete version of original reboot Enemy Unknown, complete with a host of extra features, items and abilities for your soldiers. You'll not play a better strategy game between that and (hopefully) this upcoming sequel.
