14. Dark Souls III
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1gMUv2P9-ME It might feel like gamers are still bashing their head against Bloodborne's incredibly hard difficulty-curve (it only came out in March), but conceptual medium-twisting genius Hidetaka Miyazaki is returning to the Souls franchise yet again, the resulting gameplay footage being most welcome after E3's 'blink-and-you'll-miss-it' CG offering. Now we can see the series is most definitely returning to its routes. Gone is the brighter colour palette of the Miyazaki-less Dark Souls II, and in is the darkly beautiful, labyrinthine feel of both Demon's and Dark Souls yet again. Fans will be justifiably psyched as
back-stabs have returned, rewarding those who can pivot and move around enemies, alongside a 'Ready Stance' that'll flesh out your attacks, an interconnected world that's already become Hidetaka's trademark - and a huge amount of varied class builds to ensure endless replayability. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ha8eRiP0DmI
