Gamescom 2019: 10 Announcements That Would BREAK The Internet

1. Tekken X Street Fighter Is REAL

Remember this?

What started as a joint venture between Capcom and Namco to release both a Tekken-style crossover and a Street Fighter one, only resulted in one of the two games being released.

What we got was 2012's Street Fighter X Tekken, a brawler in the vein of Street Fighter IV that played very much like Capcom's legendary marquee fighter.

What never came - though is apparently 30% complete as of 2016, according to Katsuhiro Harada - is Tekken X Street Fighter, a game using Namco's Tekken engine, that would see the Street Fighter crew's moves overhauled to work accordingly.

Harada has mentioned that he's still very excited to work on the project - the "issue" is that Tekken 7's DLC and season passes have been so incredibly popular, the team have focused on them instead.

That's all well and good, but the next fighting game from Namco has to come at some point, and lord knows Capcom could do with a win after the disastrous launch of Street Fighter V.
