Gears Of War: Every Game Ranked From Worst To Best
2. Gears 5
Gears 4 was "just another Gears of War game", and not long after launch it seemed as if nobody cared anymore, but with Gears 5, they are onto a winner.
As stated in our review, this game takes the right sort of chances, the open-world works for the most part, and when traditional Gears levels roll out, boy do things kick-off. The Skiff is a joy to ride and has finally broken the tradition of bad vehicle sequences in Gears games.
Scenes and set pieces have so much weight to them now, the cast old and new are the best Gears has ever had, and you’ll find yourself rooting for them all.
There are callbacks to almost every game (even Judgment), which helps tie that whole story in so well. The shooting is also unmatched, there is now an incredible arsenal - so everyone can have a gun to suit their play style.
Where Kait, Marcus and the other will go from here, I don’t know, but the future looks bright for Gears 6.
