Gears Of War 4: 10 Big Things That Must Happen

3. Worthwhile Horde Mode Additions

The greatest addition apart from a cover-based shooting position Gears ever gave the world, was the beloved multi-tier Horde Mode; a developer forehead-slapping arena-based survival game of "Why didn't we think of that?!" proportions. Since Gears did it, the other titans of the medium caught on and soon there were wave-based survival modes in everything from Halo to Mass Effect, so perfect was the matching of multiplayer-esque arena combat and core gameplay that you'd play for hours trying to get up to that elusive final level. For the newest Gears, Horde needs to make another return, and as Gears 3 brought in random boss battles every now and then, Black Tusk need to think outside the box to shake things up more. To look across the console war battlefield, Killzone's multiplayer often features a dynamically-changing mode that can be a free-for-all kill-fest one minute and a capture the flag the next. Employing something similar to keep you on your toes as you fight to defend certain areas of the map would be perfect.
