Ghost Of Tsushima: 10 Reasons Why It's A Game Of The Year Contender
1. A Brilliant Main Story
It would be pretty pointless to put so much time and effort into creating such a beautiful and entertaining game only for the main story to be a major disappointment. Thankfully, Jin’s journey is one that will be remembered as among the best stories of all the PlayStation 4 exclusives.
With most of the Samurai dead and his uncle kidnapped, Jin must accept that the traditional way his people fight is not enough to repel the mongol invasion and must turn to dishonourable tactics in order to give his people a fighting chance.
The story and the island is broken up into three sections, each reflecting a different stage of Jin’s transformation into the Ghost. As they progress through the story, players can see how this transformation affects Jin personally, the way he approaches combat and the way he is perceived by both his people and his closest allies.
Jin’s story is one that explores what it means to sacrifice what you hold dear, whether the ends justify the means and what honour means to different people. There are many other reasons to pick up a copy of Ghost of Tsushima, but the story is certainly one of the strongest.
