Ghost Of Tsushima: 10 Things We NEED To See

7. An Organic Open World

Sucker Punch is no newcomer to open-world games, although it hasn't got a whole lot of practice compared to the likes of Bethesda or Rockstar. The Infamous series is the only example we have from Sucker Punch of an open-world game, and those games aren't half bad, but for Ghost of Tsushima we want so much more.

Considering we have never really seen an open-world Samurai game before the standards have not yet been appropriately set. Games like The Witcher 3 have set the standard for open-world games in general, but one set in feudal Japan is something never done before on last or current-gen consoles.

Our main hope for the world of Ghost of Tsushima is that it is organic. We hope that exploration feels natural. We don't want to see large question marks on the minimap, screaming "COME AND CHECK ME OUT, YO". Instead, we hope that the map guides us to points of interest and story sequences through subtle environmental clues.

Looking at the dedicated Tsushima State of Play, this seems to be something that Sucker Punch is focusing on, using things like the "guiding winds" and the wildlife to draw the player towards interesting locations.
