5. Get Rid Of Arbitrary Limitations
There's nothing I, nor most gamers, hate more than games that impose needless, arbitrary limitations on the player for no discernible reason. Gran Turismo 5, for all of its innovation with the impressive levelling and XP system, did nevertheless hold players hostage to an extent; the inane and widely-criticised paint chips feature, which required players to earn the colour car they wanted basically by pot luck, needs to never appear in the series again. More infuriating than that, though, is the idea of locking some vehicles until a player has reached a given racer level. Though the leveling system gives players an idea of how they're progressing, it shouldn't be the definitive measure of a player's skill; if we've got the dough, we should be able to buy any car we want regardless of apparent "experience". Essentially, GT5 was oddly obsessed with preventing people from easily racing the cars they want. GT6 should be all about functionality; don't make us go through all this busy work.
