Gran Turismo 6: 10 Things It Needs

4. Beefier Sound

We're all so busy drooling over how amazing the Gran Turismo games generally look that we often forget that they should sound great, too. While the games almost always boast a fun soundtrack, the actual in-game sound design leaves a lot to be desired. Much like the up-scaled vehicle visuals, it felt like Polyphony, faced with the possibility of never finishing the game, decided to take a short-cut with GT5, given that many of the engine sounds seem suspiciously similar to previous games. While I'm not suggesting Polyphony should go back and re-record every car - though that would be awesome - it's clear that the dull engine drone of many vehicles from previous games won't cut it anymore; I want that beefy engine sound to ring out loud when I tear around the track. It'll add to the excitement and make things feel a lot less artificial.
