Grand Theft Auto 6: 8 Insane Rumours We Hope Are True

Rockstar has always been keen to move the Grand Theft Auto series forward with each instalment, introducing new protagonists and maintaining only minimal ties to the previous games.

Returning characters are usually only handed cameos, like Claude in San Andreas, but a rumour which is getting a lot of attention online suggests this could be another trend the six core instalment is about to turn on its head.

Reports doing the rounds across the web indicate that Rockstar is toying with the idea of bringing back some of the beloved characters from the previous games. There's no word on who, but Carl Johnson and Niko Bellic are names that consistently crop up on fan wishlists.

It's unclear whether the developer is considering making the returning characters - whomever they may be - playable, or simply members of the supporting cast, but it would be a nice touch if their role was to hand out missions and side quests.

If the reports about GTA 6's map spanning every city from the series turn out to be true, populating it with familiar faces makes sense and would be a great callback to the earlier games.
