GTA: 15 Absolute Worst Missions

1. The Exchange - GTA III

A game's final level should be something you feel an overwhelming sense of pride well up upon completion, but when you're battling the controls of your character as much as the string of goons trying to blow your kneecaps off, it's pretty hard to feel anything other than disgust at the whole thing instead. Come the end of GTA III the setup was you going to rescue Maria from the snarl-tonged whine of Catalina - except the layout has you broaching the arc of a dam littered with snipers and other goons along the way. Most of the time you couldn't even tell you were being shot until the numbered stat for your health suddenly depleted - and that meant a swift trip back to your safehouse, to drive back again, get out the car and do everything one more time. Or two, five or ten. In the end almost all of us purchased a sniper rifle and shot the lot of them from outside their A.I. range, knowing that they'd barely react - and in a way that was GTA's beauty, but when it came to actual gunplay, trying to react fast enough to down the chopper at the end if you were still taking on waves of enemies was almost impossible.
