GTA 6: 10 Things Fans Most Want To See
3. Use Character Stats To Differentiate Gameplay Styles
Remember when San Andreas' stats extended to new abilities like dual-wielding firearms, as oppose to just 'better accuracy', 'less recoil' i.e. things that you're barely going to notice?
It's this notion that would work perfectly with the idea of having multiple protagonists, too. For example, yes our trio of GTA V 'heroes' have their signature abilities, but in general gameplay they all 'feel' the same. Why not have a faster character who specialises in stealth, another who has a wider repertoire of melee attacks, and a third who's the only one that can wield a certain type of firearm?
All of these things could be built upon by actions in the world, which in turn feed the specific pools of attribute points, expanding their abilities in turn. As it stands, Rockstar elected to let these characters' personalities do the legwork when it comes to differentiation, where that should have come from gameplay.
