GTA 6: 10 Things It Must Do BETTER Than 5
9. Make Property & Playing The Stock Market Matter
Walter White once claimed he was in the "Empire business" after expanding his meth racket in Breaking Bad, and it's a sentiment carried into GTA V... yet only a sentiment.
Though you can purchase a variety of places around Los Santos (from cinemas to drug dealers), there's no real point, other than it being something to collect.
The same goes for the stock market. A chance mission introduces the fact that behind the scenes, there's a set of checks and balances dictating stock prices and market shares - but there's no overarching benefit to paying attention, other than more money.
More money to invest in random property that does nothing - it's like two parts of an equation without the result.
To remedy this, why not gate certain cars, weapons and items behind particular high-end moguls that won't even entertain your presence if you're not balancing the books? At least this has a gameplay benefit, rather than just ticking the boxes of which buildings you're left to buy.
