GTA 6: THIS Is The Perfect Setting

The Ultimate GTA Package

When it comes to which cities they could include, it makes sense to have Los Santos, Liberty City and Vice City (or parts of each) all together. Vice City, as mentioned, would round off the updated PS2 era and deliver it alongside two other iconic maps that could work to underscore this whole period in the franchise's history.

Speaking of the other two cities, while they're generations old at this point, both still hold up (evidenced by GTA V making its way over to the PS5). Including these, perhaps wholesale in the case of GTA V, could ease development rather than have the devs deliver this ambitious project from scratch.

Though this might sound a bit mad and far too much work, the weird thing is it's not without precedent. Red Dead Redemption 2 included the majority of the original game's map completely re-done in the new engine.

Only a fraction of this space played into a fraction of the story, and the rest was only really used as part of the Online experience.

With that experiment out the way, Rockstar could double down on this idea by linking three different maps together in GTA VI and make use of all the space both in the narrative as well as the online suite.

Because, of course there's going to be an online suite.
