Also, if there's going to be another long wait between sequels after GTA VI, having these maps to play with could give Rockstar a way to plug the gap with remasters.

Over the past couple of months there have been rumours of the original Red Dead Redemption getting the remaster treatment and, well, it seems like a no-brainer, right? The devs have already put in the work to recreate the majority of the original map, so why not go the extra mile and use it as the basis of a full remake?

The same principle would apply if Rockstar decide to update these iconic GTA locations. While everyone waits for a full GTA VII, remasters could tide them over.
