GTA Online: 10 Reasons It Was A Huge Disappointment
3. Loading Times & Network Issues
Rockstar themselves warned us ahead of GTA Online's launch that we shouldn't expect a smooth experience for a few days, and boy, they weren't wrong. Trying to log into GTA Online during those first few days was an agonising experience, and though you might hope that a company worth billions of dollars would invest in the necessary technological infrastructure to support such a popular game, to be fair to Rockstar, the game's population broke online gaming records, and they clearly weren't ready for such a deluge. Trying to play the game without being kicked was pretty much pointless for close to a week, but after that, things began to calm down. However, even today some of the nagging problems persist: loading times are a total pain in the butt, and in the event that you do get a network issue, it's extremely difficult to back out without just closing the game off and reloading it (which takes several minutes per attempt).
