GTA Online: 10 Reasons It Was A Huge Disappointment
5. Bad Sport Doesn't Make Any Sense
One of the things that makes no sense to me in GTA Online is the Bad Sport system, a means for players to report apparent "griefers" and "trolls" who are ruining their online experience. But to introduce such a system seems to betray the very essence of what GTA has always been about: causing wanton destruction without caring about the consequences. Though punishing players who constantly rage quit isn't a bad idea (by making them play in lobbies with other Bad Sports, and the worst offenders receiving a dunce hat), penalising them for blowing up other players' cars was a huge mistake, even if the penalty for this was nerfed considerably after the player-base complained for over a month. It's not like blowing up someone's car causes them a major inconvenience, as it takes mere seconds to get another car delivered. This system seems like an effort on Rockstar's part to balance the game between "serious" players and those who just want to screw around, but punishing players for doing exactly what the title says seems silly and counter-intuitive.
