GTA Trilogy Remake: 10 Missions We Can't Wait To Play (& 10 We're DREADING)
17. Dreading: Bomb Da Base: Part 2 - GTA 3
Nothing quite like a mission where you have to protect someone from afar while contending with rubbish instructions and poor aiming mechanics!
In Bomb Da Base: Part 2, GTA 3's Claude must protect 8-Ball as he sneaks onto a cargo ship with the aiming of blowing it to smithereens.
To do this, you need to support him from afar by sniping all of the guards. The game will instruct you very vaguely to go to a vantage point (with no on-map indicator of where that is), and 8-Ball won't wait for you to get there, meaning you could fail the mission before it's even started.
If you do find it, you'll then need to squint through the sniper rifle scope and hope you hit all of the guards, many of which like to hide between crates until the last minute.
As with many games at the time, 8-Balls AI is not the best, and he'll routinely wander into the path of enemies unless you're really quick off the draw.
If you've played GTA 3 before, you'll no doubt have failed and hated this mission previously. Hopefully in the Definitive Edition the instructions are clearer, and the improved graphics and aiming should make it a bit easier.
