GTA Trilogy Remake - Every Gameplay Detail You Need To Know
4. You Can Immediately Restart A Failed Mission
Finally.
If you've never played these older games, then you'll never understand the pain associated with having to travel all the way back to the birthplace of a mission and starting over from scratch, regardless of which particular point of the mission you had reached.
This meant you could spend upwards of twenty minutes, finally nearing the end of a mission that's been making your life hell. When you die, it's all over. It meant nothing.
It's a pain that's still etched in the minds of some players. It was unneeded. Seriously, why did Rockstar ever make this the norm? Imagine that still being a feature in today's open-world games. The outrage that would flow throughout gaming Twitter would be like no other beast, so at least they've recognised their mistake from the early 2000s, now allowing you to restart a failed mission instantaneously.
For some of the original trilogy's more delicate missions - we're looking at you, Vice City's Demolition Man - this feeling of euphoria is justified, though as of this writing, it's not been confirmed whether you'll have to start from the very beginning or from a checkpoint. Regardless, this feature is a piece of nostalgia best left in the past.
