9. Offline Multiplayer
Much has been made of Rockstar's upcoming GTA Online, which will for sure be one of the most ambitious multiplayer undertakings in the history of video games. However, I feel that Rockstar are somewhat overlooking an oft-requested feature in these games, and that's a local, offline multiplayer component, allowing you to tear up San Andreas with a buddy sitting right next to you. Now, the original San Andreas game did plant the seeds of this, by allowing two players to free-roam in a few limited areas of the game, but it was a piecemeal component and not really all that satisfying. What I want is the ability to play through the entire game co-operatively
and free-roam. While that would take a considerable amount of man-power from a developmental perspective and blatantly isn't happening, it's important that developers don't forget the audience for multiplayer that isn't necessarily centered around PSN or Xbox Live. We do exist!
