GTA V: 13 Things You Probably Didn't Know You Could Do
9. Death By Stalking
In GTA V, you are able to run the entire criminal gauntlet, from murder to robbery to grand theft auto and aggravated assault. There are probably also a lot of crimes that are as yet unclassified, given how adventurous and imaginative GTA players can be, but one new addition to the gambit of crimes is the ability to stalk NPCs. If you follow a female NPC closely, she will become aggitated after noticing you (presumably quicker if you're playing with Trevor,) start looking over her shoulder anxiously and walking faster to evade you. If you manage to resist the urge to punch her needlessly for the entertainment value, this annoyance will continue for as long as you're willing to put in before you get bored. The NPC behaviour is a marked improvement on GTA IV - such as when other drivers flip you off for blocking the road, or the reaction you get when you steal someone's taxi, but they don't react as realistically as if you were to stalk a real person. The main characters on the other hand, are an entirely different prospect: if you use your playable character to find and stalk one of your fellow protagonists, they will respond to your close attentions, firstly by telling you in no uncertain terms to back off, and then with violence, if you fail to relent. Somewhat annoyingly, the players seem to be over-powered when you're not controlling them, and one punch is enough to floor and kill you. So while it's an interesting side thing to do, spending too much time stalking the main characters will only lead to you dying a lot.
