GTA V: 4 Endings That Are Probably Better Than The One You Picked

3. Trevor Kills Michael (And Has to Kill Franklin Too)

Switching between characters played such a key role in the entire experience of GTA V that it seems odd that the ending was so fixed. After the last argument outside of Michael's mansion, before Franklin ever has to make his choice, what if you could switch characters and pick your finish? You switch to Trevor, and he's off in the desert psyching himself up to do what needs to be done. Maybe he's even doing a little bump of meth to get some fire going. You tear off from the desert to Michael's mansion, where your old friend is sitting in his living room watching an old movie alone. You kick in the door and get the drop on him, telling him it's time to pay the piper for his past sins. He tries to talk you out of it, but there's no going back. Brad, the faked death, working with the FIB. It's time to stop running. You push him to the floor and press a gun to the back of his head, about to pull the trigger when Franklin storms in. He tells you it doesn't have to be like this, a gun trained on you. You tell him you don't see it that way. You shouldn't have gotten involved in this, you tell Franklin. As he's about to try and talk you down once more, you turn your gun on him and shoot him dead right in the hallway of Michael's house. You didn't want to do that, you tell Michael. Franklin was a good kid. You didn't want to have to do this either, you tell him. But he made you. You pull the trigger, leaving your old friend dead in the living room of his mansion. Run to the car, leaving your associates behind on the floor, and head back to the desert to run Trevor Phillips Enterprises with all the capital you ever needed.
