5 Things We Hate...
5. Classification Of Crimes
There are certain crimes which are obvious. Shooting civilians? Check. Stealing a car? Check. Breaking into a militarised zone? Check. However, there are certain actions which the game terms as "crimes" which detract from the overall experience. For example, if a character is left standing next to an NPC, the NPC will call the police due to the player "invading their personal space." This inevitably leads to either a chase or to the cops turning up and the player getting busted, often losing all of their ammunition in the process. Admittedly personal space is an issue in reality, but is it really necessary to transpose it into a game? Online fares no better in this regard, due to the poor implementation of the "Bad Sport" lobbies. Shooting other players is not penalised, since it is deemed to be in-keeping with the general spirit of rampaging mayhem. This is in spite of the fact that it costs the victim money every time they have to re-spawn. If, on the other hand, a player destroys somebody else's vehicle using a jet - again much in the spirit of the game - they are forced to wear a Dunce cap and play in lobbies full to the brim with spawn-killing, even though they have paid to cover the cost of a replacement vehicle. How exactly does this make sense?
