GTA VI Predictions: 10 Things We Expect To See
7. Bigger Map
Initial indications show the GTA VI map could be on the small side. But the potential for downloadable additions could see the new game rocking the biggest map of any GTA game to date.
Adding pieces of the map bit by bit actually makes a lot of sense. Not only does it give the developers more time to work with, it means the game can theoretically support a map as big as Rockstar are willing to produce. There's no need to have the whole map stuffed into one oversized game at the expense of other features. If these areas are separated by oceans or tunnels, or perhaps need plane rides to reach them, players can download regions as and when they like. The story mode may have to be confined to the original map, but new regions can feature sidequests to keep things interesting.
The possibilities are endless. Players could revisit beloved game settings like Las Venturas, Vice City or Liberty City if none of those well-loved settings form the basis for the new game's map. Landscapes could range from dense slum towns to technological super cities. Deserts, forests, mountains and oceans could all get the treatment they deserve, not simple added on as an afterthought, but forming the core of detailed new regions. If Rockstar's previous work is anything to go off, we can be sure they'll come up with some amazing ideas.
