Halo 4: 5 Reasons To Be Excited

3. The New Game Modes

One of the biggest changes to the Halo franchise apart from having a new developer is the addition of the new multiplayer modes that are going under the name €œInfinity Multiplayer€. 343i announced that the Firefight mode that was in Halo: Reach would be replaced by a new game mode called Spartan Ops. Spartan Ops will tell the story of the UNSC Infinity; which is the massive ship that serves as the hub for the Halo 4 multiplayer. Spartan Ops will be a separate episodic co-op campaign that gives fans new missions each week. The first season will be comprised of 50 missions that will be available for download on the Xbox marketplace. Unlike most DLC, the first season of Spartan Ops will be free for anyone who buys the game. 343i has mentioned in interviews that the first season of Spartan Ops would be longer then the entire campaign of Halo: ODST. Spartan Ops is just like Firefight mode but instead of fighting off hoards of increasingly difficult enemies, it€™s a structured set of up to missions that can be played with up to four other friends or by matchmaking. While Firefight has been replaced another Halo favorite, Forge, will still be available in Halo 4. With two campaigns, Forge mode, and multiplayer, Halo 4 is looking to be the best deal in gaming this holiday season.
