7. Kill-Cams Are In (And Optional)
If you were to list all the things that are associated with Call of Duty, after "Angry twelve year-olds" you'd most likely land on 'Killcams' - the post-death feature that shows you exactly what your opponent was seeing before they took you out. Shear reputation surrounding COD over the years has simply made this feature a dirty word, alongside the fact that Halo fans aren't exactly rooting for game mechanics to become increasingly homogenised across both franchises. They easily serve to shake up any campers or those who kill from defined spots on the map - but you could totally argue that it's in tracking down enemies on your own, learning the maps and the tunnels within, that should separate who's even capable of delivering payback in the first place. In Guardians, Killcams are actually an optional toggle - the flip-side being to watch your team through third-person as it has been in the past. That just points out another talking point though - if you're going to do killcams at all, why not implement them properly for all players?
