Halo 5: Guardians - 9 Shocking Changes That Will Divide Fans
2. The New Ground Pound's Splash Damage
Here's a scenario that'll happen in pretty much every game you go into - you'll come around a corner, have an enemy come divebombing out the sky with a ground pound, lose your shield and die from another's stray bullet. Although this move can be stopped mid-flight by anyone who's a bit faster on the trigger, their substantial area of splash damage (and the accompanying loss of shield that means for anyone caught in the way) makes for entire platoons of players to get wiped out by just two of the opposition. One person can suicide-pound their way into the ranks, another will then mop everyone up or toss a grenade in. Simple. It'll surely make for more frantic and intense gameplay for a while, but as the beta already proved, some people will make it their mission to spam these sorts of attacks - and with no ground-based counter you can pull off, it'll wear thin very quickly. Throw in the fact that inevitably people will disconnect and unbalance teams mid-match, and spamming this sort of thing will be infuriating for anyone on the receiving end.
