Halo 5 Vs. Black Ops 3 Vs. Star Wars Battlefront: Which One Is Best?
4. Sound
Halo 5: The Halo series has always been strong as far as weapon sounds are concerned, and Halo 5 is no different. Kazuma Jinnouchi's score is meanwhile an improvement over the previous game's, and the voice acting is rock-solid across the board. Black Ops 3: Gun sound effects are as crisp as ever, though like many CoD games the musical score is relatively forgettable, to the point that all the music tends to blur together. Voice work from the likes of Christopher Meloni and Katee Sackhoff in the campaign is great, despite the questionable material they're made to work with. Battlefront: Close your eyes and soak in that Star Wars goodness. This game sounds fantastic: John Williams' recognisable score combines superbly with composer Gordy Haab's effort to make stylistically consistent new music, and the blaster and vehicular sounds are extremely faithful to the movies, but the one area where Battlefront falls down is the voice acting. Darth Vader and Han Solo impersonators are hilariously unconvincing, sadly. WINNER: Despite those dodgy imitations, Battlefront has such a firm handle on the Star Wars soundscape that it has an almost unfair advantage here. Terrific.
