Halo Infinite: 10 Promising Rumours You Must Hear
8. Releasing On Halo’s 20th Anniversary
What better way to celebrate Microsoft’s innovative, console-selling launch of the original Halo, than releasing its spiritual successor on Halo’s 20th Birthday?
343 have officially given us a release window of Autumn 2021–and a lot of coy hints to go with it. Bonnie Ross, Founder and Head of 343 Industries, tweeted “hmm, doesn’t someone have an anniversary coming up?” in response to 343’s own blogpost that announced the Autumn release date.
There was also an accidental upload of a picture of Infinite to Microsoft’s website with “coming November 15 to Xbox Gamepass”. It was hastily taken down, but nothing ever leaves the internet, and was shared amongst giddy fans.
Despite a year delay, the stars seemed to have aligned just right for Infinite. Halo: Combat Evolved was a groundbreaking shooter when it exclusively released on the original Xbox back in 2001, and Infinite seems to be putting a new spin on the Halo franchise to last for years to come.
A perfect day to honour the game that started it all, and start a brand new type of journey with Master Chief.
