Halo Infinite: 10 Promising Rumours You Must Hear
7. It Will Have RPG Elements
Take this rumour with a healthy pinch of salt, but as reported by the website Thurrott, Halo Infinite “is trying to make the story adapt to decisions the user makes and the game may have more RPG (role-playing game) elements than prior versions of the series”.
This rumour is coming up on its two year anniversary with no original source cited and no evidence for it since… but it would be cool, wouldn't it? It's not out of the question for Halo to incorporate player decisions, and could be another way to encourage replayability and give players some control over Master Chief's journey after all these years.
As for those "more RPG elements" mentioned, if Infinite is going to be a live model, then it makes sense that the game would have more customisation options than previous entries.
Power-ups, boosts and armour mods have been used throughout the series in single player, and online, to offer limited skill improvements. These could be altered into something more like Destiny, letting players choose a preferred class and perks.
If true, whatever these RPG elements could be, it’s exciting to see 343 looking to improve the Halo franchise any way they can.
