Halo Infinite: 10 Ways To Save The Franchise

8. Bring Back Classic Game Modes

Halo 5 was lacking in many areas, this much is known, but one aspect that isn't touched on enough is its sheer lack of classic Halo game modes, especially at launch. While it had its fair share of good modes, Breakout stands out as a fantastic addition, it seemed to favor new game types over old ones.

A Halo classic, and arguably one of its most popular, Big Team Battle (BTB) was missing at launch, seemingly replaced with microtransaction heavy Warzone mode. BTB did eventually make it into the game, but it wasn't the same. Maps were community made, rather than being developed by 343, so everything felt lacking in authenticity.

Additionally, BTB's heavy focus on vehicles was nullified by the advanced armor abilities each player got when they spawned. Why get in a vehicle when you're already as powerful as one?

For Infinite, 343 needs to make sure these modes are a priority, not an afterthought that comes months after the game has launched. They could even grab some previously defunct classic game modes from Halo's past and bring them back.

Invasion, anyone?
