Halo Infinite: 10 Ways To Save The Franchise

7. Playable Elites

The ability to plays as an elite was a feature first introduced in Halo 2, and it subsequently became a staple for the franchise. It featured in every mainline Bungie entry until they handed over the reigns to 343.

Since 2012 though, it has been a feature fans have begged 343 to add back to the franchise, but it has yet to return.

While in Halo 2 there wasn't much a difference when playing as an elite, Bungie went out of their way in Halo 3 and Reach to give players a reason to. Halo 3 gave players the ability to customise their elite with different armor pieces. It definitely wasn't as expansive as the spartan options, but it was cool nonetheless.

Reach took it to another level, moving it away from being purely cosmetic. In Reach, elite's health did not require a health pack in order to heal, making them more efficient on the battlefield. Additionally, Bungie designed certain game modes around the elites, including the amazing Invasion and certain Firefight modes.

With the classic art style returning in Infinite, it would be amazing to be able to play as the elites again, in all their glory.
