Halo Infinite: 10 Ways To Save The Franchise

6. An Expansive Story

While Halo fans might argue about the merits of Halo 5's multiplayer and whether or not many of the new mobility options belong, there is one place with near-universal agreement: Halo 5's story sucked.

Plain and simple, it was short, underwhelming and totally anaemic.

It certainly wasn't helped by the marketing campaign, which was totally off base. The repeated tagline of 'Hunt the Truth' was merely nothing more than smoke and mirrors. There was no truth to uncover.

The highly anticipated showdown between Locke and Master Chief was less like an epic battle between two highly trained spartans, and more like two old men fighting over the last batch of oatmeal.

The only 'truth' being hidden was that the game's story was empty.

343 seem to have listened to this complaint as Infinite is being touted as a full Master Chief story - one that will be long and far more expansive than what came before.

It's also open world, which is a huge change for the franchise; an exciting one at that.
