Halo Infinite: 10 Ways To Save The Franchise
4. Ditch Requisition Packs
So many elements of Halo 5 felt like they didn't belong in Halo, from the overdone enhanced mobility to putting iron sights on every weapon in the game - so much felt unnecessary.
One part that certainly never belonged, and never will, were Requisition Packs. These were Halo's version of loot boxes, and they plagued game modes like Warzone.
These have no place in Halo, and really no place in any game that is sold at a premium price. Halo's long tradition of armor customization was ruined, as these requisition packs made it difficult to unlock the pieces of armor you wanted.
To accommodate these loot boxes, the game had to have hundreds of armor variations, leading to many of them looking similar. A vast amount of them were simply reskins.
By getting rid of these, Infinite can move back towards a more traditional model of unlocks. But it doesn't look like this is going to happen, with Infinite now confirmed to have free-to-play multiplayer.
Who knows exactly how 343 will handle unlocks, but as long as the monetization is limited, we should be good to go.
