Halo: Ranking Every Game From Worst To Best

7. Halo 3

Halo Games
Bungie

Halo 3 was definitely a solid conclusion to the original Halo trilogy and, storywise, did everything it needed to do. It showed Master Chief's ultimate victory over the Covenant (and, supposedly, the Flood) in the most epic way possible. Plus, the music was on par with the series' best, with the title screen theme along being insanely memorable.

The multiplayer was also fantastic, featuring great competitive play on some of the best Halo maps to date. Plus, Forge in Halo 3 is arguably the best the game mode has ever been across the series and added years to the game's lifespan.

However, while it may have been an objectively fantastic game, Halo 3 is also the weakest entry in the original trilogy, as well as the weakest main-series game. It was everything fans had come to expect from a Halo game, but that was as much as curse as it was a blessing.

The premise of Halo was no longer as novel as it was six years prior, when the franchise debuted. So, Halo 3, while a satisfying grand finale, felt fairly formulaic and did little to shake things up.

For a true status quo-altering addition to Master Chief's story, fans would have to wait for the Reclaimer Saga.
