Harry Potter: Wizards Unite Review: 7 Ups & 4 Downs

1. The Spells Element Is A Little Limited

The Pokeball element in Pokemon Go was always fairly rudimentary, but it fit with Pokemon lore. The biggest problem for Wizards Unite is the spell casting play element, because it has nothing to do with the magic and spell casting complexity of the books or movies.

Tracing your finger over different shapes is fairly limited, unfortunately (particularly when it's surprisingly hard to do even the more simple ones above a "Good" rating) and it feels like a massive missed opportunity not to give players the chance to choose their own spells at the very least.

Nobody is advocating for phone swishing to reflect wand work, but even that would have been more welcome.
