Hitman 2 Review: 5 Ups & 5 Downs

3. Loading Times Are Painfully Long

A big part of the fun of the Hitman series is the trial-and-error nature of the gameplay, where players are invited to experiment around with different paths and strategies towards their goal.

That's all well and good, and the game certainly boasts enough variety to satisfy, but the fun is hampered a little by the obscenely long loading times, which get close to 40 seconds on base PS4.

Considering it also takes about 10 seconds to save your game and there's no quickload facility, it might de-incentivise you to play around in the sandbox as much as you might want to.

While it's probably a bit much expecting the game to have a Trials-esque instant restart with the simple press of a button, the loading times are completely excessive. 10-15 seconds would be reasonable, but more than double that? No way.
