Hitman 6: 10 Essential Things It Must Fix From Absolution

7. Missions With Real Substance

One section of the game depicts 47 attempting to make his way through a chaotic bar brawl, shoving and fighting his way through a sea of flailing fists to reach the bartender - the objective of this little excursion? Information on your next target. Another level presents you with the simple task of retrieving Agent 47's trademark silverballers from the clutches of a gun shop owner; a task which can easily be completed within 10 minutes. What part of that couldn't be covered with a quick cutscene? This was a recurring problem with Hitman: Absolution; assassinations were conspicuously absent for several portions of the game and players were often handed menial tasks amounting to little more than glorified fetch quests in an attempt to keep fingers busy, further emphasizing the erratic nature of the design. It's difficult to stay engaged when there's little to reward such effort.
