Hitman 6: 10 Essential Things It Must Fix From Absolution
5. More Realistic Character Behaviour
NPC AI is a recurring issue with the franchise that's worth addressing, with the enemy AI in Absolution being particularly problematic. Behavioral modes often boiled down to two states- vaguely suspicious or blissfully unaware, with no middle ground to speak of. The discovery of pantsless victims was often regarded with all the urgency of a paper cut, with characters pacing the length of a doorway before continuing on their merry way as if a gruesome axe murder hadn't just redecorated the walls with cranial spray. And it didn't end with the discovery of corpses either; it was entirely possible to haul bodies across hallways with no more than a few inches of arm space separating you from another character's field of vision. Granted, a few hiccups in technical design are to be expected but the lack of range regarding behavioral patterns damaged the overall believability of subterfuge, and it really threw a wrench in the formulation of effective strategies when characters displayed borderline psychic behavior like the ability to detect disguised imposters among dozens of identically dressed men with a simple glance.
