The World of Assassination trilogy has finally come to a close with Hitman 3, and it's safe to say this doesn’t disappoint.
Now it must be said that Hitman 3 doesn’t necessarily reinvent the wheel or drastically shake up the game to its core, but then again, it never needed to. This last entry has taken the reinvented formula for the 2016 game and perfected it, even after it was improved upon in Hitman 2.
In a neat twist, there are some changes to mission structure to accommodate for narrative, as yes, there is a story within this new trilogy, and Hitman 3 rounds itself out in grand fashion.
IO are challenging players to focus and pay a bit more attention to such fleshed out surroundings, with the second "Dartmoor" level in particular letting 47 masquerade as a murder mystery-solving detective.
After a trilogy of insanely impressive, genuinely impressive titles, it might be time for IO Interactive to let Agent 47 rest for a bit, but it has been one hell of a run.
If you have both previous games rolled into Hitman 3, this is the ultimate package, with a bounty of locations and playstyles to choose from. The now-complete World of Assassination will certainly keep fans of stealth gameplay going until IO's Project 007 is unveiled properly.
IO Interactive believed in Hitman and stuck with Agent 47 all this time. Finally it has paid off more than ever.
