How FromSoftware Should Make Bloodborne 2

Yharnam's Murky History

Lady Yharnam Bloodborne

Giving players the chance to witness these horrors first-hand, rather than hear of something awful and Lovecraftian that happened long before the Hunter’s arrival, gave this section of the game an eerie edge over the rest in some respects. A feeling that exploring the familiar-yet-different areas only heightened. If FromSoftware were able to tap into this with a potential sequel, it would be one heck of an experience.

A prequel that dove further into the time of the first beast hunts could see the team embrace everything that went down so well about Bloodborne. The Hunter’s Nightmare threw gamers into a twisted and warped take on the familiar Cathedral Ward area, so why not take this concept further in the sequel? We could get a chance to play through the burning of Old Yharnam, the Healing Church forsaking the people and barricading themselves away, and other events that are only alluded to through dialogue and lore.

As for the timescales of the past, present and future, the nature of the dream means that a similar hub world could potentially link all of these without an issue. The labyrinths below Yharnam would make for another fine setting to be explored in more detail (perhaps before they were abandoned) as they were a bit of a procedurally-generated an afterthought in the original.
