Indiana Jones Game: 10 Things It Must Learn From Uncharted & Tomb Raider

2. Place Emphasis on Well-Developed Side Characters

Though Indy is the main draw to the Bethesda published title, developing only his personality would feel like a waste. The film series, while placing emphasis on the trilby-toting archaeologist, has a slew of interesting side-characters that could make a return, or better yet MachineGames could create a fresh batch of new ones exclusive to the game.

Elena, Sully, Chloe and Sam are all revered --and rightfully so-- by fans, and Tomb Raider dropped the ball with its supporting characters in the new trilogy. Almost all of Lara's comrades from the first game are either dead by the end or only appear in audio diaries and the like. Jonah is the only side character to accompany all of the Tomb Raider's adventures, and while he provides a nice change from Lara's leap-before-you-look attitude he's hardly the Elizabeth to Croft's Booker.

Supporting characters, well acted and written, can elevate a story to incredible heights. Uncharted's tales are nothing remarkable, but the wonderful personalities that Nathan Drake crosses paths with make every scene more memorable than the last.

Indiana Jones is iconic, yes, but he can be made so much better with more interesting voices planted into the story.

Failing that, bring Shia LaBeouf back.
