The official Injustice tie-in comic is still ongoing, and currently in its second year, thanks to a wave of surprise critical and commercial success surpassing even the videogame in terms of its popularity. Much of that success is due to the comic's willingness to take risks and kill off some of the heavy hitters. As of Year Two, such DC mainstays as Nightwing and Green Arrow have been killed in action, with no sign of the usual resurrection dead superheroes tend to get in comic books. The Injustice book has also led to one of the most insane fight scenes in comic book history following Superman's breaking of the Bat (is there no originality in the world?) humble butler Alfred Pennyworth was responsible for beating Superman to an absolute pulp in the Batcave; opening with a face-crushing headbutt, before stomping the Man of Steel's head so hard that the shoes and socks literally disintegrate from the butler's feet. It would be great, then, to see that story continue. Maybe our hypothetical Injustice 2 could tie itself into that ongoing tale (via a playable Pennyworth? Yes please) picking up where the comics leave off. Or it could start anew, over in a different DC Universe. Whatever it decides to do and wherever it decides to go, the original Injustice will take some beating. It'll be fun to see them try.
