I've seen many other rankings knocking Supes down the list, noting that despite supposedly being 'faster than a speeding bullet', he's actually quite a sluggish character to get your head around.

On the contrary, once you start factoring in his many weighty haymakers, mid-air grabs, eye lasers and flying punches, you can dominate an opponent with ease. A lot of Superman's loot is really awesome too, getting the full-on glowing logo treatment we first saw when the game was announced.

It's by equipping any number of strength-boosting items that you can really turn Superman into a total monster. His basic combos beg to be topped off with ground-smashing grapples or disorientating mid-air attacks, and as his special attack only increases strength even more, a good Superman player can feel unstoppable.
